On April 29th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Professor in the Field of Veterinary Pathology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Veterinary Pathology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Professor

Country of Origin: Egypt

Approval Notice Date: April 29th, 2022

Processing Time: 3 months, 10 days

Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group is responsible for over 25,000 successful petitions to USCIS. The adjudication process is thus very well known to ourselves, which means that we can help our client know it inside out. This is what we were able to do for a client who came to us in January of 2022. She held a Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology and was a professor in the field at the time of filing. She wanted our help to file a NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on her behalf. This we did as our team gathered all relevant information by digging into her professional and academic background.

We found that as an expert in the field of veterinary pathology, her proposed endeavor is to continue enhancing scientific understanding of anatomic pathology, enriching regenerative medicine, and developing animal models for novel therapeutic approaches, immunotherapy, and nanotechnology in order to resolve key challenges in human pathology such as liver fibrosis, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), drug abuse, neurodegenerative changes associated with stress, toxicity problems, and cancer.

This research advancing her proposed endeavor is also of great importance to global health and economic development because it broadens knowledge of the underlying factors and mechanisms that guide disease pathogenesis and enable the development of treatments to prevent and cure disease. Thus her proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the health and economic stability of people in the United States and for efficiency in the healthcare system. In particular, it conveys new approaches that utilize novel pathways in order to safely and effectively overcome dire and economically-burdensome diseases.

At the same time, due to her knowledge and expertise in anatomic and experimental pathology, she has been regularly invited to conduct peer review for authoritative journals in the field, including journals of national and international reputation. She has been invited to conduct at least 60 reviews to date.

Her research has resulted in an immense number of articles which have been widely used by the peers in her group. Her publication count stood at 69 peer-reviewed journal articles (16 of them first- or sole-authored), 4 conference papers, and 2 accepted journal articles when she came to NAILG. Not only has she successfully completed and published the results of her research in the field, but her research has also gone on to influence her peers. That is, her publications have been cited a total of 657 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of veterinary pathology.

These pieces of information were put together by our experts in the form of her petition. While the petition packet also included the letter of recommendation, her CV and transcripts proving beyond doubt that she was worthy of the approval. We wish her the very best in all her future endeavors.
