“Thank you for your message and for your help toward my successful application.”
On February 29th, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Ph.D. Candidate in the Field of Electrical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Electrical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Ph.D. Candidate
Country of Origin: Iran
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas
Approval Notice Date: February 29th, 2016
Processing Time: 1 month, 10 days
Case Summary:
This EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case resulted in a candidate from Iran receiving an approval notice from Texas Service Center. Our client is immersed in the field of electrical engineering and qualified to file his case under this visa category. It took the USCIS a little over a month to grant their approval (the average processing time is between 4-9 months) and we have no doubt that our presentation of a strong case alongside our client’s credentials lent a hand in this NIW case approval.
Our client’s M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, his extensive publication record (7 peer-review journal papers, 3 book chapters, and 4 conference papers) and citation count (59 citations) served as evidence that his skills are second to none. We also proved that his work on the development of analytical tools, models, and algorithms for the optimal management of renewable energy and power systems contribute to the United States power and energy industries and public utilities, as well as overall economic and environmental stability.
Something else that played an important role in the success of this NIW case is the inclusion of recommendation letters contributed by other experts in the field of electrical engineering. Our client managed to obtain six letters, all of which attested to the quality of his research and its significance to not just the field, but the country. Here are several excerpts:
- “[Client’s] work strengthens the United States’ electric grid system, which improves the nation’s resiliency, reliability, and efficiency in terms of utility use, especially in the face of severe storms and other threats that induce unexpected system failures. Micro-grids are a cost-effective tool with properties that are ideal for meeting the nation’s wind energy goals. With [Client’s] assistance, the United States is expected to meet its goals, and continue on an upward trajectory of responsible, efficient energy use.”
- “…I believe that, given the technical expertise and past activities and achievements of [Client], he will be able to have an active role in building the future U.S. energy system.”
- “His education at world-class universities combined with his experience in the industry provides him with a unique and informed perspective from which to tackle the most challenging aspects of power systems and energy modeling…”
