On March 2nd, 2016, we received another EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers) approval for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Field of Pharmacology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Pharmacology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Associate
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Minnesota
Approval Notice Date: March 2nd 2016
Processing Time: 6 days (Premium Processing requested)
Case Summary:
This EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers) case involved a gifted postdoctoral associate from China. She wanted to become an American permanent resident and contracted North America Immigration Law Group’s services to help her attain green card success. She opted to file her I-140 petition (first step in green card proceedings) under the EB-1B visa category. As EB-1B cases are employer-petitioned, our client had to persuade her employer (a university) to support her case, which they willingly did.
EB-1B Case Strategy:
As with all our I-140 cases, we urged our client to touch base with a handful of influential names in her field of pharmacology. We needed her to obtain recommendation letters that we could use as supporting evidence in our EB-1B petition presentation to the USCIS. Our client convinced six experts to lend their support, all of whom agreed to verify that our client’s work is important to the overall progress of the field. For instance, one of the letters included this statement: “… [Client] is undoubtedly well-positioned to continue making important contributions to this critical field. […] her work benefits not just the quality of life for patients already suffering from the immunodeficiency but for the well-being of the general populace via prevention tactics on cellular level. […] Her research has had a remarkable impact on national needs and it is critical that the nation secures her expertise…”
Our well-balanced EB-1B petition packet also highlighted our client’s various research projects on the underlying mechanisms that enable opioids like morphine to promote the development of sepsis, the biological mechanisms that facilitate and exacerbate the pathogenesis of HIV infection in the systems of opioid abusers, and the toxicity of narcotic drugs within the context of immune cells. We demonstrated that her work is relevant to the United States, particularly its clinical and healthcare sectors. We also included information on our client’s illustrious citation count, publication record, and peer review experience: 117 citations, 8 publications, and 7 instances of peer review service.
Thanks to Premium Processing (PP), our client’s case was adjudicated and approved in merely six days. Although petitioners have to pay the USCIS $1,225 more, PP significantly slices down the adjudication wait time from 4-9 months to roughly 15 days. We would like to congratulate our client for obtaining her EB1B petition approval notice, and we join her as she awaits optimistic news from the USCIS regarding the I-485 application (final step towards a green card) which we recently filed on her behalf.
