Client’s Testimonial:
“It’s really good news for me and my family, many thanks for all of your efforts and help.”
On April 26th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Professor in the Field of Materials Science (Approval Notice).
General Field: Materials Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Professor
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Outside the US
Approval Notice Date: April 26th, 2017
Processing Time: 12 days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
A recent client of ours is well-known as a leader within the materials science research community. Her exceptional work in the field focuses on the generation of sustainable, non-polluting solar power and storage technology. When she first contacted North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help her obtain a green card, we thoroughly examined her academic credentials and came to the conclusion that she was a perfect fit for EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability).
Building a strong EB1A case:
To begin with, we collected information to prove that our client is part of the “small percentage who has risen to the very top” of the field, and that she met at least 3 out of the 10 EB1A criteria set by the USCIS. The 3 criteria we focused on were:
- Evidence of original contributions that can be witnessed in our client’s exceptional publication record of 65 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 12 patents, and 1 book chapter.
- The impact of her work could be seen in the outstanding 1,867 citations accumulated from her published material. It proved that her studies are helping materials scientists around the world achieve their research goals.
- Her peer review work that consisted of 30 reviews conducted for prominent journals and 17 research proposal reviews established her as a discerning judge of the work of her peers.
Letters of recommendation:
Besides making sure that our client fulfilled the criteria for EB1A, we also asked her to reach out to other professionals in the field who could corroborate our arguments that her strong background in materials science, high energy physics, and ceramics makes her a valuable addition to the American scientific community. Two of her recommenders included the following statements in their recommendation letters:
“…improvements to the technology such as those made by [Client] are of significant interest to the development of U.S. renewable energy and to key economic interests of the nation.”
“Through her outstanding work she has expanded our understanding of this vital area of materials engineering, making her without a doubt one of the leading researchers in this area.”
We worked hard to build a strong EB1A case for our client and we are pleased that the USCIS issued an approval notice 12 days later. We congratulate her on this win and thank her for working with us. NAILG continues to work with our client and her dependents on the last step of the green card process for applicants based outside the US: Immigrant Visa Processing (IVP).
