On January 29th, 2019, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Lecturer in the Field of Nursing (Approval Notice).
General Field: Nursing
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Lecturer
Country of Origin: Iran
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Outside US
Approval Notice Date: January 29th, 2019
Processing Time: 1 year, 1 month
Case Summary:
A university lecturer in the field of nursing based in Iran hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help her prepare and file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. Despite receiving a Request for Evidence (RFE) during the process, our client’s case was granted approval by the USCIS after 1 year and 1 month of waiting due to the effective work of our legal team in drafting a strong response.
As soon as our firm was retained for her NIW petition, our team worked closely with our client, and went through her credentials and collect evidence accordingly. We found that one of the most notable accomplishments of our client is her research on diagnosis disclosure, which is critical since it has significant implications for the health outcomes of cancer patients from many different cultural backgrounds. As delivering bad medical news is difficult for both healthcare professionals and patients, our client has developed guidelines and protocols for the delivery of bad diagnosis, as well as pioneer novel instructional approaches to properly equip health care professionals to handle these situations when faced with patients and families from different cultural backgrounds. Her years of research has resulted in 11 peer-reviewed journal articles and 2 book chapters and has been cited a total of 37 times. These numbers all confirm the elite level of her accomplishments.
In order to further strengthen her case, we also advised our client to contact multiple well-known experts in the field of nursing for recommendation letters. In one of the letters, a convincing statement indicated: “The skill with which [client] has conducted her research projects has garnered her an enviable reputation within the discipline. As a sign of this, her work has been published in extremely competitive venues, and she has been trusted to write book sections for guiding texts within the nursing community. Her activity in publishing thus demonstrates that [client] is a powerful and distinguished figure among researchers in her field”.
We are pleased that our hard work paid off and that our client is now one big step closer to her green card. As she is based outside the US, she must undergo Immigrant Visa Processing (IVP) to secure US permanent residency, and we wish her the best with this step.
