Case Summary:

Armed with an M.S. degree in chemical engineering, a graduate research assistant from Taiwan contracted with North America Immigration Law Group to help him in representing his I-140 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. Our unprecedented knowledge in preparing for the NIW case impressed our client and abiding by our suggestion, he provided us with all the required paperwork to be sent to the USCIS.

Initially, we established his research on functional materials and devices that increase renewable energy efficiency. We were certain that his efforts in this research work seem to be relevant to energy consumption and efficiency in the United States. Thus, we confirmed the attorney-client relationship and started preparing a strong case on his behalf by specifying the following:

• He has pursued research directly related to his proposed research for 5 years, which has great importance because he has implemented novel methods for designing electrochromic materials and devices which have furthered scientific knowledge. Furthermore, his work has been supported with funding from the National Science Foundation; the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan; the Ministry of Education in Taiwan; the Bureau of Energy; Japan Science and Technology Agency [JST]; the CBMM. Hence, the support of this funding from these leading agencies, therefore, demonstrates the significance of his work, which has received national attention and success in the field.
• During his time working in the field, he has built an impressive record of success, including the 258 citations from the 14 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored) and 1 book chapter he published. His articles have been published in no fewer than 5 highly ranked peer-reviewed journals. In fact, he has authored 7 papers that rank among the top 10% most-cited articles across the entire field for Engineering for their respective years of publication.
• We also observed that he is an active member of the scientific community and conducted two peer reviews for highly acclaimed journals, showing his comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field.

“Since his work has considerably advanced electrochromic research, numerous chemical engineers have cited his studies, myself among them. I have utilized his methods and findings on several occasions to justify my use of polymer electrolytes and viologens for electrochromic device enhancement. In fact, his research inspired my exploration of viologen-based electrochromic because he showcased the abilities of these materials in his studies. Additionally, his work enabled me to design simplified electrochromic with refined properties. In this way, my own research is an example of how [client’s] work benefits the field of chemical engineering.”

We customized his petition further by adding further recommendation letters. Therefore, the aforementioned statement has been provided by one of his recommenders. His other fellow experts have also contributed their valuable insight into our client’s proposed work.

When we sent the completed package to the USCIS for further adjudication, within 10 months and 21 days his NIW case got approval.
