Case Summary:

A little under 9 months after North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on behalf of a postdoctoral research associate from Taiwan, he received notification of case approval. Based in Wisconsin, our client has extensive experience in the field of materials science and has multiple accolades to show for it. For instance, his work has resulted in 10 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored), 3 peer-reviewed conference papers, and numerous conference presentations. We included this information and much more in his EB-2 NIW petition packet. Here are some of the other points we focused on:

  • We noted our client’s Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and demonstrated that he is well-equipped with the theoretical and practical knowledge demanded to conduct outstanding research in the field.
  • Our client had gathered several recommendation letters contributed by other experts working in the field. These researchers were either familiar with our client’s publications and/or had worked with him. According to one of them: “As someone who works on topics very closely related to [Client’s], I expect his work to be among the best in the world, given that he is already one of the top researchers in materials science.”
  • We also included information related to the 109 citations gathered from our client’s work. We used Google Scholar and other reliable sites (such as Scopus) to obtain this information and we proved that researchers all around the world are advancing their work thanks to our client’s findings.
  • Most importantly, we detailed our client’s various research efforts on interconnect reliability, dislocation dynamics, and the properties of materials used in nuclear reactors. We concluded that our client’s research results have directly contributed to the design and construction of a number of engineered materials, ranging from cell phones to nuclear reactors. Additionally, his materials science research efforts are contributing to the United States’ energy production and the lifespan of electronic materials.

We are tremendously pleased that our efforts paved the way for case approval. Our client is now significantly closer to permanent residence, and we thank him for placing his complete trust in our law firm to help him overcome this hurdle in the green card process.
