Case Summary:

 

North America Immigration Law Group was retained by an attending physician to help him obtain a green card. Our client, whose research focuses on diagnostic imaging equipment for diseases, chose to file his EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition while residing in his birth country of Taiwan.

As part of our legal services, we proved that our client’s experience as an instructor, physician, and researcher has enabled him to develop novel imaging techniques and advance the field of radiology as a whole. We established that his work will greatly benefit the radiological and healthcare industries in the United States. We also demonstrated that not many other researchers who share our client’s background are able to accomplish what he has.

With an M.Sc. in Healthcare Administration, a Doctor of Medicine, and an illustrious research portfolio, our client was a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW. We supported our assessment by encouraging our client to reach out to other experts in his field of radiology to gather recommendation letters. Four experts obliged, one of whom wrote, “Ongoing research in the field of radiology is, therefore, crucial to the technological advancement of the medical field and improving outcomes for patients across the United States and the world…He has shown his abilities as a skilled radiologist, and the loss of his continued participation in radiology research would be detrimental to the field.” Alongside these letters, we included information on our client’s 23 published papers and the 122 citations they had gathered.

We handled all communication with the USCIS, allowing our client to focus on his research. Overall, we raised three service requests and efficiently responded to the Request for Evidence (RFE) that the USCIS issued. The USCIS ultimately approved our client’s I-140. He is now eligible for Immigrant Visa Processing (IVP). Once his IVP is approved, he may enter the United States as a permanent resident. We wish our client all the best.
