Case Summary:

A prominent assistant professor from India clinched EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers) petition approval just 3 days after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed it on her behalf. The reason for such rapid adjudication is due to Premium Processing (PP), a service offered by the USCIS that allows petitioners to have action taken on their cases within 15 calendar days.

To qualify for EB-1B, an I-140 subcategory of priority workers, we essentially had to demonstrate that our client had achieved international recognition as being an outstanding professor in the field of psychology. We also had to prove that she had more than 3 years of research experience along with ongoing employment from her American employer—a well-known university who is willing to petition her case. Once we received confirmation from our client and her employer, our team went on to build a strong case to prove that she has reached the top of the field and her investigations are essential to the country.

Our client’s research has focused on cultural psychology and on how immigration and social attitudes are shaped via selective engagement with historical narratives. She has developed a state-of-the-art model for cultural and social psychology research, which provides valuable insights to experts and policymakers regarding the formation of identities and the cultivation of good relationships between different groups. In the petition letter our team drafted, we detailed her PhD in social psychology, 6 peer-reviewed journal articles and 1 conference article. Leaving no stone unturned, we also listed the 73 citations gathered from her work and the 50 times she assessed the work of her peers for a handful of highly acclaimed journals. We left no room for doubt that our client deserved to have her EB-1B petition approved.

To further strengthen the case, we urged our client to gather recommendation letters from several of her peers. We needed other experts in the field to confirm the value of our client’s research not just to psychology researchers in the US, but also to those based around the world. To our delight, our client returned with six signed letters, and according to one of them, “[Client]’s research on this topic provides crucial benefits for the international social psychology research community. Accordingly, her work has been widely implemented. (…) These citations underscore the influential nature of [Client]’s research on this subject.”
