Case Summary:

A gifted physician from India hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help him file an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. The many years that he has spent saving lives and improving the field of cardiology made him a suitable candidate for this visa category.

Building a winning EB-1A case is easier said than done. A variety of pertinent information was incorporated into the petition packet, part of which was composed of data on our client’s 16 scientific articles, 27 peer-reviewed abstracts, and numerous presentations at national and international conferences. We also detailed the 119 times his work was cited and the 31 times he assessed the work of his peers for various scientific journals.

To make our client’s EB-1A case even stronger, we urged him to contact other medical experts and ask them for recommendation letters. Six experts agreed to help him out, all of whom signed recommendation letters confirming the value of his work on the analysis and improvement of medical practices for cardiovascular care. Not only did these recommenders state that our client’s work provides better treatment and health management options for cardiovascular health, they also advocated for the approval of his EB-1A petition saying that it would benefit the United States. This is what one of them said: “Including both direct and indirect costs, cardiovascular disease costs the U.S. economy over $400 billion each year, and diabetes costs nearly $250 billion each year according to recent estimates. A not insignificant amount of this cost is the result of unnecessary medical tests and procedures. [Client’s] work provides new guidelines and procedures for managing patient health without unnecessary and often invasive procedures. Thus, his work benefits not only individual patients but the economy at large.”

Texas Service Center spent exactly 9 months and 13 days processing our client’s EB-1A petition before granting their approval. We raised one service request on our client’s behalf after the case was considered outside the normal processing time but aside from that, everything went according to plan. Not long after he received the approval notice, our client decided to retain our I-485 services. Once again, we carried out our job in an efficient manner and successfully filed I-485 applications for both our client and his dependent. We are currently waiting for the USCIS to take action on their applications and in the meantime, we thank our client for working with NAILG and we wish him well as he continues to progress the field of cardiology.
