Case Summary:
North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) recently helped a research scientist from India obtain an EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers) petition approval. Without the support of his employer, this would never have materialized. The reason why our client’s employer played such a big role in his case is because EB-1B is an employer-petitioned visa category. He needed their full support to proceed with the case and once we had everything we needed from them (such as the G-28 form and other company-related documents), we got under way to build a strong EB-1B case for our client.
What did his petition packet feature?
As we had to prove to the USCIS that our client’s work benefits not just his employer but the U.S. as a whole, we first had to understand and account for his various research ventures. To simplify the process, our client provided us with a comprehensive research summary that detailed his work. Thanks to that, we determined that his work is focused on characterizing and understanding the genetic and molecular behavior and attributes of fungal and bacterial pathogens with the goal of developing new vaccines and treatments. We established that our client’s research addresses some of our nation’s most pressing issues in understanding a variety of pathogens in both humans and plants and how to treat and prevent them, which in turn benefits public health and the agricultural sector.
Our client’s expertise in the field of pathology was described as “… rare, and is representative of a much needed skill set in current pathology research. It is my opinion that [Client] should be included in the very small group of remarkable scientists who are uniquely qualified and able to accomplish high-level research in this area. Judging on his already substantial achievements, it is obvious that [Client] will continue to produce the highest quality research and impact not only his field, but the nation.” This statement was extracted from a recommendation letter signed by a well-known professor in support of our client’s EB-1B petition. He was joined by five other experts in the field, all of whom contributed strong testimonials.
Our client’s petition packet also contained details on his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, his 7 scientific articles, 4 book chapters and 20 presentations at national and international conferences, as well as the 110 citations gathered from his work. We also noted the 28 times he conducted peer reviews for 14 scientific journals.
