Client’s Testimonial:
“Yes, I received the message from USCIS yesterday, and we are happy that this process concluded positively. Thank you for all your help during the process!!! Without your prompt help this wouldn’t be possible.”
On September 1st, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research Chemist I in the Field of Materials Science (Approval Notice).
General Field: Materials Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Chemist I
Country of Origin: Colombia
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Pennsylvania
Approval Notice Date: September 1st, 2016
Processing Time: 8 months, 14 days
Case Summary:
With a doctorate in chemistry and years of experience working in the field of materials science, our client (a research scientist from Colombia) was a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver). Overall, it took the USCIS 8.5 months to adjudicate his case. We are pleased that our diligent efforts paid off and that our client’s petition was approved without the issuance of a Request for Evidence (RFE) as it would have significantly lengthened the overall processing time.
So what did our client’s EB-2 NIW petition dossier contain? For one, we included recommendation letters contributed by a handful of our client’s peers. We made sure that these recommenders were experts in the field of materials science and that they had either worked with our client and/or were familiar with his research on the development of new nanoparticle chemical coatings for use in nanomedicine as well as sensors and smart surfaces. One of these experts stated, in part, that “Considering all he has achieved, especially in terms of the development of immunomodulatory nanomaterials, I believe his presence in the research sphere is required for further advancements in our understanding of the chemistry of nanomaterials and its implications for medicine.” Another recommender noted that “Given the scale of his success so far, [Client] can be effectively guaranteed to continue in having a substantial influence over nanotechnology and its related field in the future.”
Besides these detailed recommendation letters, our client’s EB-2 NIW petition packet also contained information on his 38 journal articles and numerous conference presentations, and the whopping 776 citations gathered from his work at the time of filing. We also demonstrated the significance of his research to the United States, particularly when it comes to advances in chemistry and nanomaterials as well as pharmacological and medical studies, and the design of chemical coatings for industrial use.
Our client chose to embark on the final leg of the green card process by filing I-485 applications for himself and his spouse using our complimentary D.I.Y Packet. The applications were filed while his EB-2 NIW petition was pending approval and less than two months after it was approved, the I-485 applications followed suit. Our client and his spouse are now proud green card holders and we thank them for working with North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com).
