Case Summary:

Not long ago, North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition on behalf of a postdoctoral fellow from China. EB1A is an I-140 category that is upheld by a very high standard of law and demands very high qualifications from its petitioners. Our client, who has noteworthy experience in the field of mechanical engineering, was an eligible EB1A candidate.

Qualifications that made her perfect for EB-1A: 

Our client holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from a leading American university, which proved that she has the knowledge and skills needed to carry out impactful research. Her work addresses the ways to impede the progression of climate change and to transition to more environmentally sustainable fuel processes, which is invaluable to the United States.

Further, our client’s studies have resulted in 23 peer-reviewed scientific articles that had been cited a total of 107 times at the time of filing. Apart from that, she has also conducted at least 70 peer reviews, demonstrating her skills as a competent judge of the work of others. The above factors established her as a researcher of high acclaim who has risen to the very top of her field.

Corroborating her credentials and our claim that her research carries national importance, experts from the field wrote recommendation letters in support of our client. Two of the letters that we incorporated into our client’s EB1A petition stated:

“[Client] has greatly contributed to the longevity and energy conservation of U.S. energy infrastructure through her work on solid oxide metal-air redox batteries, thereby strengthening the U.S. economy.”

Several weeks after filing the EB1A petition, we upgraded it to Premium Processing (PP) at our client’s request. PP guarantees a swift response time of 15 calendar days and the USCIS did not let us down. Just 2 weeks after the upgrade, they took action on our client’s petition and approved it.
