Case Summary:

A chief of endoscopy and assistant professor sought assistance from North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) with the first step of the green card process: filing an I-140 petition. To put together an impactful EB-1A case, we carefully went through his credentials and submitted evidence that proves our client has extraordinary ability in the field of gastroenterology.

In our petition package, we noted that his 21 peer-reviewed journal articles in high impact and internationally circulated journals have been extensively recognized through 730 citations. We also listed the 42 times our client served as a peer reviewer. As only top-level experts in the field are invited to perform peer review work, this frequent review activity demonstrated our client’s respected standing in the field.

Arguably the most important element of our client’s petition detailed his work on revealing the underlying mechanisms of common gastrointestinal malignancies and developing novel therapeutics for their treatment. We worked hard to convince the USCIS that our client’s effort to advance the field is of immeasurable importance since it leads to a greater understanding of health disparities among underprivileged groups, safer and more effective surgical techniques, and new pharmacological approaches for the treatment of common gastrointestinal malignancies, which positively impacts nutrition science, epidemiology, and public health of the country.

Among our client’s many noteworthy achievements is the fact that a collaborative group of researchers from elite institutions around the globe heavily relied on his findings to develop a drug to treat liver carcinogenesis. This example underscores the real-life impact of client’s work, as it has proved integral to establishing a clinical trial. In other words, his experimental findings have translated into practical benefits that have had a reverberating impact on the medical field.

Our team also helped our client to select recommenders. We made sure that the shortlisted candidates were expert gastroenterologist who saw great value in our client’s work. We then urged our client to reach out to them and ask for recommendation letters. Seven experts agreed to lend their support, one of whom had this to say about our client’s findings: “By making the research breakthroughs underlying this development, [Client] has made an exceptionally valuable contribution to research in the gastroenterology field. He is one of the most essential scholars engaged in this area of research and his continuing work regularly makes signal developments in the understanding of liver cancer, cirrhosis, and related risk factors”.

Despite our best efforts, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE) not long after we filed the EB-1A petition. Our team efficiently put together a strong response to the RFE, which subsequently led to case approval. We congratulate our client for securing EB-1A petition approval, and we wish him the best as he adjusts his status for permanent residence.
