Another notable client that North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com had the pleasure of working with was a Research Associate from Brazil working in the field of pulmonology.  His work had focused on asthma, COPD, and other chronic lung and airway problems, specifically devoted to further understanding their physiological and environmental causes.  As a researcher, he had made vital discoveries in these areas and we demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would not only benefit those in his field, but the citizens of the United States at large. To achieve success in this case, we submitted extensive documentation proving our client’s highly significant contributions to the field of pulmonology, including at least 33 peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter. His publications had been cited at least 527 times at the time of case filing clearly demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of pulmonology.  His work demonstrated an outstanding ability to get to the core of problems, as recounted by a preeminent scientist in his field, “[He] is an asset to a variety of medical fields, not just pulmonology. His research on the body’s response to oxidative stress and allergens is also applicable to allergists and immunologists. Environmental health experts will pay attention as well, since his work deals with the health consequences of pollution. Even if he only benefitted pulmonology, however, he would still be an asset. Because rising obesity rates are a relatively recent affliction, the link between obesity and asthma is only now being appreciated and studied; laboratories dedicated to studying that link are becoming increasingly more important, and [he] exhibits the knowledge and dedication to be a part of them.”  Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW application was approved in just under 2 months, well short of the average processing time of 4-6 months for I-140s.
