Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you very much for your help during this process. I appreciate your overall professionalism during the process.”
On September 13th, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Field of Chemical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Chemical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Country of Origin: Colombia
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Michigan
Approval Notice Date: September 13th, 2016
Processing Time: 8 months, 26 days
Case Summary:
Nearly 9 months after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on behalf of a Colombian postdoctoral research associate, the USCIS approved his case. Even better than that, his I-485 application was approved a month later and he is now a proud green card holder. The reason why our client’s I-485 was approved so quickly after his I-140 is because he chose to file it while the latter was pending approval. This gave the USCIS a head start in adjudicating his I-485.
What did his NIW petition contain?
For one, we highlighted his investigations on novel micro- and nanoparticle self-assembly practices for optical technologies and proved their importance to the US. After carefully reviewing our client’s research summary, we concluded that his research results have directly contributed to manufacturing practices for American healthcare devices, camouflage and cloaking technologies for the military, and scientific understanding of colloidal systems. Additionally, his quantitative prediction research efforts are contributing to manufacturing practices within the United States to improve production methods for technological devices.
According to one of our client’s recommenders (there were four in total), our client “…has advanced the field of chemical engineering in a manner truly unmatched by his colleagues and his innovative and cutting-edge endeavors have secured his position at the forefront of his field of specification.” These recommenders contributed letters that not only highlighted the significance of our client’s investigations to the US, they also detailed our client’s 16 published articles and the 192 times his work was cited by other researchers. It is undeniable that these letters played an important role in paving the way for case approval.
We congratulate our client for accomplishing his goal of becoming an American permanent resident, and we thank him to trusting our law firm to help him navigate the complex green card process.
