Success Stories: Nebraska Service Center Approves the EB1A Petition of a Chinese Engineer Working in the Field of Chemical Engineering

Client’s Testimonial:

“Thanks a lot for your work done for my case.”

On February 8th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for an Engineer in Energy Systems & Process Solutions Research in the Field of Chemical Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Chemical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Engineer in Energy Systems & Process Solutions Research

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Ohio

Approval Notice Date: February 8th, 2017

Processing Time: 6 months, 5 days

Case Summary:

With an innate passion to reach new heights in the field of chemical engineering, a Chinese research engineer seemed like a suitable candidate for EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability). When he approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com), we were duly impressed by his professional qualifications and the societal impact of his research in the discipline. After carefully evaluating his credentials, we decided that we could prepare a strong EB1A case for him.

Highlighting our client’s achievements:

Part of our services involved proving to the USCIS the importance of our client’s work to the United States. We also made sure to demonstrate that only a small handful of other researchers can obtain such notable results in identifying and controlling the impact of pipeline energy systems on public health, safety, environment, property, and business. Our client’s prolific research and impressive solutions in chemical engineering are geared towards promoting clean energy development, and they have gained him significant recognition and regard within the scientific community.

Additional evidence:

We helped our client narrow down a list of other influential experts working in the field of chemical engineering. The shortlisted candidates had either worked with our client or were very familiar with his research. Our client then contacted them for recommendation letters and to our delight, six experts agreed to lend their support. According to one of them, “[Client’s] work has set standards within the field of chemical engineering with regards to feasible alternatives to fossil fuel, as illustrated by the widespread use of his work and the high regard his work receives”.

Alongside these letters was further evidence of our client’s role as a leader in the field:  the 11 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 9 presentations, 186 citations, and the 76 times he had assessed the work of his peers.

Responding to the RFE:

Nearly two and a half months after filing, our client decided to expedite the adjudication process by upgrading his case to Premium Processing (PP). Not long after his case was upgraded to PP, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE) which our professional team promptly responded to. Although the overall processing timeline was lengthened to a little over 6 months, this EB-1A petition approval proved our unwavering commitment to offering our clients the best legal service. We congratulate our client and wish him the best as he continues to influence the field of chemical engineering.
