Case Summary:

With an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience working in the same field, our client—a graduate assistant from Iran—seemed like a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver). After carefully evaluating his credentials, we determined that we could prove to the USCIS that he deserved to obtain the national interest waiver.

Our Comprehensive Services:

Amongst other things, North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) helped our client narrow down a list of experts immersed in the field of mechanical engineering. We then urged our client to contact the shortlisted candidates and ask them for recommendation letters. To our delight, our client persuaded five experts to lend their support and their recommendation letters were duly included in our client’s NIW petition packet. According to one of these experts (a well-known associate professor) our client is “…an irreplaceable member of surface engineering community. This field is new and exciting, but requires researchers with specialized training and knowledge. [Client] has these qualities, and exhibits them to an extent superior to many others in the field.”

Our legal team and support staff also gathered information pertaining to our client’s illustrious achievements in the field. These included, but were not limited to, his citation count and publication record. At the time of filing, these numbers stood at 86 and 4 respectively. Furthermore, we reviewed and accounted for our client’s work on micro/nanoengineering, nanofluidics, wetting, and thermal/fluid engineering. We persuaded the USCIS that our client’s efforts have directly contributed to advances in the production of safer food containers and intelligent microfluidic devices, and are contributing to the United States’ aviation and automotive industries.

Taking the Final Step:

During this long wait, we helped our client raise service requests on his case and sent follow up emails to Nebraska Service Center. Following our suggestion, our client also contacted his congressperson who helped contact the USCIS. We also promptly responded to a Request for Evidence (RFE) that was issued. Our diligent efforts coupled with our client’s solid credentials paved the way for case approval. Not long after his NIW petition was approved, our client engaged our I-485 services to help him with the final step in the green card process. Once his I-485 is approved, he will become a proud green card holder. We wish our client the best with this step and thank him for working with our law firm.
