Client’s Testimonial:

“Having decided to apply for Green Card through National Interest Waiver, I knew my ideal choice is to work with North America Immigration Law Group. I heard their good reputation from my PhD advisor, his former PhD graduates and a few other colleagues of mine. I am happy to work with them, because they were fast, responsive and accurate. Since, I started my application in the beginning of my 4th year of PhD, I was worried to receive request of additional evidence, but gladly, my case was accepted as it was submitted to USCIS.”

On February 28th, 2020, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Ph.D. Student in the Field of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Systems Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Ph.D. Student

Country of Origin: Iran

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: New York

Approval Notice Date: February 28th, 2020

Processing Time: 6 months, 29 days

Case Summary:

The USCIS spent nearly 7 months reviewing our client’s EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition before granting her approval. Our client, a Ph.D. student from Iran, hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) because she knew that we would do everything we could to present a strong case to the USCIS on her behalf. As is apparent by the approval notice, we lived up to her expectations.

Establishing our client’s high standing in the field:

With an M.S. in Socio-Economic Systems Engineering-Operations Research and extensive experience in the field of systems engineering, our client had suitable qualifications to qualify for the national interest waiver. Even so, we carefully evaluated her credentials to be sure that we could build a strong case for her. Once we had determined that EB-2 NIW was the most straightforward method for her to get closer to permanent residency, we initiated an attorney-client relationship and got to work on her case.

As with all our cases, we worked diligently to compile a wealth of information on our client’s accolades and accomplishments. For instance, we noted the 8 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored) and 3 scholarly conference papers (1 of them first-authored) which gathered 41 citations. We also demonstrated that her research on developing data-driven intelligent decision support models in prediction, monitoring, and control of data-rich complex health systems to optimize the outcomes of health procedures and to improve the quality of care delivery via artificial intelligence. Her field of research is of great importance because it has centered on the development of data-driven intelligent decision support models for diagnostics of diseases and predicting the medical treatment outcomes such as breast cancer and kidney failure progression.

Support from her peers:

We verified the importance of our client’s research to the field as well as to the U.S. by integrating recommendation letters into her petition packet. These letters were furnished by other experts in the field, all of whom gladly agreed to lend their support towards our client’s EB-2 NIW petition. Here is what one of these experts had to say about our client: “[Client’s] developments have advanced the accurate and timely diagnosis of breast cancer, thereby improving treatment options and overall survival rates for patients. In this manner, [client] has clearly performed innovative and important research in systems engineering for clinical purposes.”

Obtaining petition approval:

Exactly 6 months and 29 days after we filed the EB-2 NIW petition on her behalf, she received notification of case approval. We congratulate our client for overcoming such a significant hurdle in the green card process, and we thank her for trusting our law firm for her I-485 application.
