Client’s Testimonial:

“Many thanks for your great support to make a strong NIW case. I feel very grateful.”

On August 24st, 2021, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research and Development Manager in the Field of Pharmanutrition (Approval Notice).

General Field: Pharmanutrition

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research and Development Manager

Country of Origin: China

Approval Notice Date: August 24st, 2021

Processing Time: 10 months, 12 days

Case Summary:

“[Our client] was the first scientist to identify components in the Hericium novae-zealandiae mushroom that have proven to suppress experimental carcinogenesis in the prostate cancer cell lines. Her findings are of great value to both cancer researchers and populations who rely heavily on traditional medicines. [Her] unique approach sets her apart in the field of pharmanutrition and has set an exciting precedent for both botanical and cancer research.”

“While natural products, as well as herbal and dietary supplements, have been around for a long time, they have increased massively in popularity in the United States over the past 15 years. More than ever before, US consumers are geared toward natural-based health products and are focused on preventative healthcare as a more affordable and proactive approach to their overall health. [Client’s] work in pharma nutrition ensures that the US supplement industry remains an important force in healthcare, offering scientifically-backed alternatives to synthetic medicines. In conclusion, [she] is a prolific member of the scientific community conducting leading research in the field of pharma nutrition that benefits both her fellow researchers as well as the supplement industry as a whole.”

These are some excerpts taken from recommendation letters that our client was able to obtain acting on our suggestion. Both of them clearly state how important her work is to the health care system and the economy in the United States of America as well as to the world at large. These letters were used as supportive arguments by our attorney to argue in favor of granting our client an NIW status at USCIS.

Given that our client is a prolific member of the scientific community, working as a research and development manager, her work in the field of pharmanutrition has resulted in 26 peer-reviewed journal articles (12 of them first-authored) and these publications have been cited as many as 267 times according to Google Scholar showing that they are widely read and relied upon in her field. She has also completed at least 14 peer reviews to date.

On the other hand, her study has received funding from the Guangdong Science and Technology Department. This funding supports projects that promote scientific and technological progress in China. Therefore, her research clearly has been recognized for its inherent merit in advancing scientific and technological research.

In sum, her successful work on the isolation and characterization of chemical components in botanicals, particularly her focus on the experimental design and analysis of chemical components in botanicals, makes it clear that she has the expertise to advance determining the health benefits of natural products to facilitate their application in pharmaceutics and food. All of these information pieces were put together by our experts in her petition packet, driving the case to a successful finish. NAILG wishes her the very best in all of her future endeavors.
