On March 10th, 2021, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Field of Movement Science (Approval Notice).

General Field: Movement Science

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Country of Origin: Nigeria

Country of Residence at the Time of Filing: South Africa

Approval Notice Date: March 10th, 2021

Processing Time: 18 months

Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) was hired to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition for a postdoctoral research fellow with a Ph.D. in human movement science. Before evaluating his case, we assessed his proposed research work in the field of movement science on the role of physical activity in the prevention of non-communicable diseases. His research work in the field is of great importance because it has identified factors that contribute to non-communicable diseases.

Also, we exhibited our client’s flourishing work that had broad implications on his peers and colleagues in the field. At the time of filing, he had already acquired 19 citations from the impressive record of 12 peer-reviewed scientific articles (6 of them first-authored) he published. We also observed that our client is an active member of the scientific community as a peer reviewer and completed 26 reviews that highlight his strong footing in this area.

Moreover, we validated our client’s built petition by adding five recommendation letters that he obtained from other well-established researchers working in the same field. According to one of the recommenders:

“[Our client] is a researcher with unique and specialized experience that has enabled him to contribute significantly to the field of exercise science. His insights allow for the development of targeted intervention strategies to reverse unhealthy habits that lead to NCDs, and it is of the utmost importance that his work is continued.”

Successfully, we were able to persuade USCIS that our client has provided novel methods to protect against non-communicable diseases and their risk factors, therefore benefitting overall public health and he must continue advancing his proposed research work here in the United States. Even after getting a request for evidence (RFE), his EB-2 NIW petition finally got approved. Our team would like to congratulate him on this milestone. Also, we would like to thank him for cooperating with us throughout the process and allowing us to be a part of this success story.
