Case Summary:

Last year, a postdoctoral fellow from Iran hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on his behalf. Our client, who has extensive experience in the field of industrial engineering, hired us because he knew that we would do everything we could to help him get one step closer to his green card. In preparing our client’s EB-2 NIW petition, we made sure that we had all the relevant paperwork that proved the value of his investigations to the United States. Here are some of the points that we highlighted in our presentation:

1. We noted his 30 published scientific articles that had gathered nearly 80 citations at the time of filing. Using these numbers, we established that various researchers around the world are utilizing our client’s findings to progress the field of industrial engineering as a whole.
2. Our client’s investigations on the modeling of supply chains and service systems using queueing theory, stochastic modeling, and other analytical methods were also documented. We reviewed his findings and determined that they contribute to the United States’ economy by increasing the economic productivity of certain industries and providing a better customer experience to consumers.
3. Our client reached out to several of his peers and asked them to sign recommendation letters. The five letters that he obtained were included in his EB-2 NIW petition packet and presented to the USCIS as evidence that he is an asset to the United States. According to one of our client’s recommenders (a prominent professor): “With his abilities, it is certain that [Client’s] impact on industrial engineering and nations like the United States will endure far into the future. For this reason, it is essential that [Client] be granted the opportunity to continue his career in the United States. His work will advance U.S. industries and benefit individual consumers as well as the national economy. These advances are direly needed in the wake of the recent recession, and without [Client’s] work, I fear the nation’s economic recovery will remain all too slow.”

What is Immigrant Visa Processing?

Green card applicants have two options to apply for permanent residence. They can either file an I-485 (only if they are in the U.S.) or undergo Immigrant Visa Processing (if they live abroad). In this case, our client does not reside in the U.S. and thus, must opt for the second option. He has to pay the fees, submit the right paperwork, and attend an interview at the proper American consulate or embassy. Assuming everything goes well, he will then be allowed to enter the U.S. as a permanent resident and his green card will be mailed to his American address. We wish him the best with IVP and look forward to welcoming him into the U.S. as a green card holder.
